Según mi experiencia, hay cinco puntos principales que deben considerarse cuando se trabaja en la traducción jurídica:


  1. Asegurarse de que el documento original esté claramente estructurado y organizado y que el documento traducido se complete de manera similar.
  2. Si es necesario, busque el asesoramiento de abogados en el lugar de destino. Contactar con profesionales en la materia será de gran valor, especialmente para el testimonio de los testigos y los documentos y términos relacionados con el gobierno.
  3. Debe estar familiarizado con la terminología y las normas de su propio país en relación con las que se mencionan específicamente en el documento.
  4. Antes de comenzar su trabajo de traducción, comprenda cómo y dónde se utilizará la traducción. Esto afectará a la forma en que realice su trabajo y le dará un enfoque más refinado a la traducción.
  5. La traducción de documentos legales siempre debe hacerse con precisión, y debe seguir el estilo de escritura particular del idioma de destino. El más mínimo error podría llevar a un proceso legal complicado o invertido, lo que lo hace diferente a cualquier otro tipo de trabajo de traducción.

In my experience, there are five main points to consider when working on legal translation:


Make sure that the original document is clearly structured and organized and that the translated document is completed similiarly.

If necessary, seek advice from lawyers in the target audience’s location. Contacting professionals in the field will prove invaluable, especially for witness testimony and government-related documents and terms.

You should be familiar with your own country’s terminology and rules concerning the ones mentioned specifically in the document.

Before beginning your translation work, understand how and where the translation will be used. This will affect how you go about your work and will give you a more refined approach to the translation.

Translating legal documents should always be done accurately, and should follow the particular writing style of the target language. The slightest mistake could lead to a complicated or reversed legal process, which makes it unlike any other type of translation work.
